ACCESS TO CERN

Upon arrival at CERN, please go to the CERN reception in building 33. If you already have a valid CERN access card please bring it with you and present it at the front desk. For those who don’t, a list of your names will be communicated to the reception and they will provide you a CERN visitor card for the duration of the meeting. Should you arrive outside of reception opening hours (evenings or weekend), please go to Gate B and either present your access card or inform the guard that you are attending the Review of the needs for a hollow e-lens for HL-LHC.
Should you have any problems please call: +41 (0)75 411 4162.

Travelling by Car

From Switzerland:
Follow signs for "Aéroport", "Lyon" and "Meyrin". Once you are in Meyrin, follow signs for "St Genis" (which is just beyond the border, in France). Before reaching St Genis, the CERN reception is on your left on "Route de Meyrin", just before you reach the border.

From France (département of Ain):
Follow signs for "Gex" or "St. Genis". When you reach the border, CERN is on your right immediately after passing through customs.

If you come to CERN by car, you will need to collect a car sticker giving you access to the site with your car. We ask you to send us the license plate number of your car before the meeting so we can prepare the sticker, which you can then pick up from the CERN reception.

Before entering the site, you can park your car in the parking lot next to the Globe across the road from CERN. Please note, however, that you are permitted to enter and leave the car park only once by default. When you have obtained your sticker you can enter and leave the CERN site throughout the meeting.

If you have a rental car and do not know the license plate number in advance, go to the CERN reception when you arrive and they can issue you a sticker. If you arrive outside of opening hours please contact us as soon as possible, and we will inform you accordingly.
