Getting to SDSC/UCSD
The meeting will take place at the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC). The address is:

The airport serving UCSD and SDSC is San Diego International Airport (SAN). It has direct connections to all major US hubs. The only direct flight to Europe is to London-Heathrow (British Airways).
UCSD and SDSC (an organized research unit of UCSD) are located in nearby La Jolla, CA. Specific details on getting from the airport to SDSC can be found on the SDSC Visitor Page.
At the San Diego Airport one can rent a car, or alternatively there are also a number of shared shuttle services which provide transport from the airport to hotels in the UCSD/La Jolla area. The typical cost is $18-20 one-way. Tickets can be purchased in advance or on the spot. Uber or Lyft are also available.
Easy public transportation from the airport to UCSD/SDSC is not available.
Once you have arrived, the SDSC Auditorium is located on the ground floor of SDSC just off the driveway, to the north or Hopkins Parking Structure.
Parking
Parking on campus is difficult and costly. Walking or shared rides (by rental car, Uber, etc.) is strongly recommended. See the SDSC Visitor Page for additional details about parking. Individuals can purchase permits onsite at kiosks as indicated on SDSC Visitor page. With early morning starts each day parking spaces should be fine. A mid-day start poses parking challenges.
Hotels
Below is information on hotels in the immediate vicinity of SDSC (mostly taken from the SDSC Visitor Page). The hotels in this list under 1.5 miles are typically within 20-30 minute walking distance. We have not booked a dedicated block of hotels, however many of these hotels have a "UCSD" hotel rate which you can request. If appropriate it may also be possible to request a "government rate". You may have to call by telephone (as opposed to online booking) to obtain these rates.
In addition there are a number of hotels further away (see Travelocity, Booking.com or other similar online booking sites). A number of participants have also found reasonably priced accommodations via Airbnb. To get from these locations to SDSC may require a car or taxi, however.
