We use and recommend a hotel of our choice on the beach, Rizzan Sea-Park Hotel, which is the nearest to the conference venue.
Block-booking:
We negotiated block-booking with a discounted price. We get a better price than the one in the hotel's English page. If you wish to book a room of the blockbooking, please do through this link. Be warned that the rooms of the blockbooking may be released by the end of September. The release date of the blockbooking is extended to 20th Oct. (and that's it) . Book your accommodation NOW (before released).
Breakfast included, charge per room per night:
Single use: JPY 11000 (+tax)
Twin use: JPY 12000 (+tax)
Triple use: JPY 16500 (+tax)

Notes:
1) Send your query regarding the booking through the special link to the organizer.
2) In creating your account in the hotel booking, the "Zip code" must be numerial only, e.g. 123-4567. If your postal code is non-numerical, leave it blank or fill with an artificial number like the one given, for the moment.
Your own booking:
It does not matter for the conference if you make your own booking to the hotel. E.g., if you go through the hotel's "special rate" pages (plan (77-days advanced booking and pre-payment) or this plan), you may get
A room (e.g. upto 2p): JPY 8800 - 9600 (+tax) with number of service coupons.
However, there are a few limitations: 1) the booking page is available only in Japanese, 2) one stay is up to 4 nights; if you stay more than 4 nights, you have to make two bookings (which means check-out/check-in between the bookings).
If you dare to take the challenge, perhaps it is worth the value.
Commuting to the venue:
We will arrange one-off coach service from Rizzan Sea-Park hotel to ferry attendees to the conference venue in the morning and the evening.
On-campus apartment (charge per apt):
Other than using Rizzan Sea-Park hotel, we arrange a few OIST's on-campus apartment for buget or group-share stay, for the earliest check-in on 9th Dec. and the latest check-out on 17th Dec.
Be warned that these take approximately 30 min. walk to/from the nearest airport coach (C area) bus-stop (at Rizzan Sea-Park hotel), and there are no restaurant inside no nearby. You may use a cafeteria in a research building with its limited opening hours.
If you wish to book OIST accommodation, please request in the registration form. The assignment of the apartments is first-come, first-served, in principle. We notify the confirmation of the booking by 9th Oct. at the latest.

A new hotel is opened in April, 2017, near OIST, about 800 m to/from the Conference Center. The hotel is a bit costlier than Rizzan but could be an alternative if you can't book Rizzan.
