By plane

Participants arriving by plane are advised to book Ljubljana Airport (Airport Joze Pucnik, LJU) as their final destination. Ljubljana Airport is located 26 km north of  Ljubljana.

From the airport to the city center you can take a bus, a shuttle or a taxi  

If you take a taxi get one from Metro, call 080 1190 in Slovenian networks.The cost should be around 25 EUR (25 km ride). The taxis which wait outside the Ljubljana airport are usually double that price.

Alternative airports are connected to Ljubljana with GoOpti shuttle buses. Price and time schedule of buses vary, price for one direction is in the range from 10 EUR to 80 EUR per person. Early reservation usually means lower price.

By car: 

Use highways A1 and A2 to drive to Ljubljana from Austria (Klagenfurt 83 km, Vienna 380 km), Italy (Trieste 95 km, Venice 242 km), Croatia (Zagreb 116 km) or Germany (Munich 408 km).

Important: use of vignettes in Slovenia is obligatory for all vehicles with the permissible maximum weight of up to 3.500 kg on all toll roads, eventually all highways. Vignettes can be purchased on all petrol stations in Slovenia, Italy, Austria and in Croatia and in branch offices of automobile clubs.
