CERN History Project Organizing Committee (James Gillies, Emmanuel Tsesmelis, Afroditi Anastasaki, Panagiotis Charitos, Theodore Arabatzis, Luisa Bonolis)

It has been over 20 years since the original CERN History Project concluded. The "CERN History Days" is a new initiative in order to relaunch the Project.

The 2-days Workshop, that will take place on 1-2 February 2018, will have the form of an open symposium, followed by a closed workshop to which, experts in the history of science and related fields can be actively involved in the discussions.

In particular, the open session of the first day is designed mostly to stimulate general reflection, through the contributions of the invited speakers.
On the second day, the closed session is a series of working groups-discussions (5) each run by a facilitator. The invited participants are free to choose which discussion to join. There will be two iterations, allowing everyone to contribute to two topics. The greater aim of the second day, is the production of a roadmap to be proposed to CERN management for a resumption of the History Project.

Following these two days, the facilitators of the five working groups will be tasked with drafting a summary document and proposal for CERN management.
