It is around a 5 minute walk from Hillhead subway station on Byers Road to the Kelvin Building (see the map below).
Directions from Finnieston
It is around a 25 minute walk from Argyle street if you walk along Kelvin Way past Kelvingrove Tennis Centre and then up University Avenue to reach the Kelvin Building (see map below).

History
The Kelvin Building was named after Lord Kelvin, the Scottish physicist/engineer best known for his work in electricity and thermodynamics during his time in Glasgow. The building was designed by Scottish architect James Miller and was completed in 1906. It was formally opened by the Prince and Princess of Wales on 23 April 1907.
