Description
This parallel talk should give an overview of recent developments in the QCD phenomenology underlying general purpose Monte Carlo event generators, and the role of these developments concerning treatment of nuclei. The focus should be on soft particle production, and its function in determining the differences and similarities between the underlying dynamics of ultra relativistic proton-proton and nucleus-nucleus collisions.
