This presentation from Oracle Corporation, will explore the use of DBMS within grid
computing. A range of data distribution models will be covered together with data
structure and access methods. Examples of these models from both the Scientific and
Enterprise Grid worlds will be presented.

Attendees will be invited to participate and contribute to the open discussion during
and following the speakers’ contributions with the aim of:
§ Exchanging ideas and knowledge

Overview
The creation, analysis and manipulation of data and meta-data lie at the heart of
Grid Computing. This grid data takes many forms and is widely distributed -
characteristics that are not normally associated with database management systems
(DBMS). However databases are today playing a major part in the development of grid
computing.
With a forward look to future evolution, discuss the issues you have encountered (or that you expect) in using the EGEE infrastructure. Wherever possible, point out the experience limitations (both in terms of existing services or missing functionality)
