Description

LHC collaborations are pursuing searches for new physics in a vast variety of channels. Events with highly Lorentz-boosted particles offer unique features on top of standard model backgrounds to construct searches for new physics. Techniques for identifying these features have been developed across a range of resonance and counting analyses in BSM scenarios like Beyond 2 Generation heavy particle decays and SUSY pair production. In light of the full LHC Run 2 dataset, we would like to survey existing tools and their application across BSM searches to discuss the future of these tools and explore regions of uncovered phase space. This workshop will summarize the work done by several CMS groups to develop tagging tools and apply them to new physics searches across PAGs: SUSY, EXO, B2G. The workshop will then be open to theorists and non-CMS experimentalists to discuss the potential of these techniques in a broader experimental context and get feedback on new areas of searches with boosted topologies.
