Description
The experimentally well known nucleon axial coupling $g_A$ has been computed extensively on the lattice and serves as a benchmark quantity for lattice calculations. The axial couplings for the other octet baryons (hyperons), like e.g. $\Sigma$ and $\Xi$ baryons are less well known. We will present not only results for the hyperon axial charges but also for other isovector charges, e.g., the tensor charges. Our calculations were performed on a set of $N_f = 2 + 1$ CLS ensembles of non-perturbatively $\mathcal{O}(a)$ improved Wilson fermions with tree-level Symanzik improved gauge action. For the computation of the required three-point-functions we used a stochastic technique which enabled us to compute various combinations of currents and interpolators simultaneously.
