At GSI
The gate will have a list of participants. All people will have to show their IDs and will get daily passes. Normally the guards allow workshop participants to carry the same daily pass for the duration of the workshop.
From Railway Station / Airport to GSI
Taxis at GSI prices can only be booked beforehand. Good prices for transfer GSI-Airport-GSI. To book taxis (self paid), please inform 24 hours in advance emmi-office@gsi.de. Besides time and place of departure, destination and name, we do need a mobile phone number. Here is an idea of prices. Here is an idea of prices for pre-booked taxi fair with EMMI:
- Airport to GSI (and vice versa): 25,00 € / way
- Main railway station Darmstadt to GSI (and vice versa): 17,00 € / way
- Airport to Hotel “Weisser Schwan” (and vice versa): 38,00 € / way
- Main railway station Darmstadt to “Weisser Schwan” (and vice versa): 15,00 € / way
From Darmstadt to GSI
Note that public transportation directly to GSI’s door stops at 20:00 during the week and doesn’t run during the weekend. The closest bus stop after hours and on weekends is about 1.5KM from the lab. Therefore we will arrange transportation on:
• Thursday evening after dinner - from GSI to Weißer Schwan hotel where you can take public transport to Darmstadt
• Saturday morning - from your hotel to GSI.

From GSI to Heidelberg
The meeting will end at after lunch time on Saturday. A bus will depart at 14:00 to Darmstadt Train Station (from where one can get the Airliner bus to Frankfurt airport) and then to the city of Heidelberg. Please note that the bus will not be back to Darmstadt but there are direct trains from Heidelberg to Frankfurt to the airport.
