How to get to CERN

Public transport in Geneva is frequent and easy to navigate.  All tickets must be bought before getting onto the bus, train or tram.  In Switzerland, ticket machines are widely available, can accept cash or card and the language can be switched from French to English, German or Italian.  In France, ticket machines are only available on the buses and these machines will only accept contactless cards.  The cash only ticket machines are being phased out.

If you plan to explore Geneva further then the easiest way to navigate the city is to download the SBB app.  This app allows you to check times, routes and buy tickets on your mobile for all public transport in Switzerland.

Arriving By Train (journey time ~ 20 mins)

  1. After arriving at Geneva's main station (Gare Cornavin), follow the signs for tram 18.
