Accessing CERN & Finding The Conference Room

How to access CERN

If you are arriving between Monday and Saturday from 8:30am to 5:30pm (opening hours of the Main Reception), go to the printing terminal in Building 33 (Main Reception), enter the unique code that you have received, select your name and collect the visitor card from the security guard on duty, presenting a valid identity document (passport or equivalent ID card).

Outside these opening hours and 24 hours a day, it is also possible to follow the same procedure on the printing terminal located in front of the building 55 (inside the phone booth). Then the visitor card can be collected from the security guard on duty at Entrance B.

On arrival you can request a paper map from reception or gate B.  Alternatively you can download the CERN Maps application onto your mobile (highly recommended).

Finding the conference room

The talks will all be held in the auditorium in building 6 (room 6/2-024).  Building 6 is a little tricky to find.  One possible route from the CERN hotel to building 6 is marked on the map below.
