Excursions outside Santiago

Santiago de Compostela is located closed to a famous wine area and to the Atlantic ocean. We proposed a combined excursion for Wednesday afternoon.

You would travel by bus to the wine region, where you can learn about the world of wine and its culture, surrounded by a unique landscape

  • Boat trip through the "Rias Baixas"

Tour of the beautiful Galician estuary, extensive river and rich in beautiful landscapes, with explanations from a guide. Route in which you can contemplate the cultivation of mussels, oysters and scallops made in floating platforms called “Bateas” in which a stop will be made to observe closely the cultivation ropes.

During the trip you will also have the possibility of observing the seabed of the estuary from the panoramic view of the bottom of the boat. A mussel degustation will be offered in the boat trip.

  • Relax at Lanzada Beach

This is one of the best beaches on the European side of the Atlantic Ocean and one of the most emblematic in Galicia. The more than 2-km long area has fine white sand, crystal clear waters and it is ideal for anyone who loves the sea and water sports.

The intertidal zone of Umia–O Grove is there, which is a wetland with great ornithological interest. Additionally, the church of A Lanzada is in the area, containing a statue of a Virgin closely linked to fertility rituals, and a necropolis from the 4th century BCE.

It is a unique location where heritage and nature blend together.
