Participate in this CERN Hackathon on Pattern Recognition! The goal is to brainstorm, debug, develop and improve well-defined algorithms sharing ideas and knowledge during a multiday (marathon) session.
The famous Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN provides the opportunity to study various types of particles and their behaviour during and after collisions. For tracking such collisions, ultimately sophisticated detectors like the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) are used for measurements. However, these detectors produce vast amounts of data that needs to be structured before interpretation is possible; that is where you will kick in! This hackathon focuses on finding the best solution for pattern recognition within CMS data.
The first steps on your journey to winning this hackathon competition:
The Hackathon concludes with submission of your solution, a short presentation of your idea and finally…
VICTORY*
* (if you proposed the best solution)
Open to all TU/e students, bachelor, master, PhD and PDEng.
