      Task 2.1 Incoherent Effect

      Past Studies in 2021
Most of the Task 2.1 studies concentrated on Run 4 aiming to address the incoherent effects for the finalization of the Run 4 operational scenario.
Among these the following were recollected:
      - BB incoherent effect via DA studies (including coupling and errors and CC tilt/voltage unbalance).
      - MS10 needs and DA for Run4.
      - Impact of the CC noise on emittance evolution and performance in Run4.
      - IBS contributions for Run4.
      - Measurement of the noise in the LHC UPS spectra.
      - (see Roderick's presentation for the BB studies related to ions).

      Studies on going and planned

As left over of the Run 4 studies, there is
      - The effect/threshold of the quadrupolar noise for Run 4 (to be investigated after Evian Workshop, very fruitful help of P. Hermes and the collimation team).

Rogelio added that the phase noise of the CC is still outstanding.

The main efforts for next year will be devoted in the following directions:
      1. Participate in the Run 5 scenario definition (similarly to the approach adopted for Run 4 studies). This will include the DA scan aiming to evaluate the impact of the LHCb upgrade and the of the slightly flat optics.
      2. Study of the wires compensation for Run3/4 in view of the review/workshop in May 2022.
      3. Improve the luminosity model as a tool for the performance optimization of the next runs (including additional bbb effects, and emittance blow-up due to luminosity burn-off).
      4. Experiments in LHC in 2022 (wire compensation, noise studies, BB and luminosity follow-up).

A preliminary schedule/phasing for the different activities is reported here.
