IRIS-HEP Institute Retreat

US/Central
Description

The IRIS-HEP software institute has recently completed its fifth year after being funded by the National Science Foundation. The goals of the retreat are to:

  1. Checkpoint the status of the IRIS-HEP efforts to date (Year 5 of the project)
  2. Clarify the gaps between where we are now and what will be needed for the HL-LHC startup
  3. Elaborate a vision for what IRIS-HEP could do with an additional 5 year program of work

The retreat will take place in Madison, Wisconsin at the Discovery Building on the UW-Madison campus. There is also a co-located Analysis Grand Challenge on Thursday morning (September 14). More information can be found at https://indico.cern.ch/event/1291680/

The event will largely be held in the Orchard View Room, Room 3280, on the 3rd floor of the Discovery Building. There is an elevator next to Aldo's Cafe on the University Ave. side of the building, adjacent to the main elevator bank, that provides badge free access to the 3rd floor. There will be an IRIS-HEP Retreat sign as well.

The breakout room is on the 1st floor of the Discovery Building, Room 1170, along the University Ave. side of the building.
