The collimation Project25m
The high intensity LHC beams are handled with the world's largest and most accurate collimation system ever built. The first phase of this system has been completed for the start of LHC beam commissioning, as part of the LHC collimation project. Several required improvements for the system have been described years ago. The planned work on the collimation system and the required adaptations due to the IR upgrades with crab cavities and low beta* optics are described.

Cold Powering via superconducting links (for R2E and IR upgrade)20m
The talk gives an overview of the projects being carried out with the goal of providing the remote powering of the LHC magnets via the use of high-current superconducting links. This includes the activity performed within the R2E consolidation program, which focus on the LHC circuits electrically fed from P1, P5 and P7, and that related to the HL-LHC project. Cryogenics plants for SPS test, P4 upgrade, Cryoplant in IP1-IP520m
The HL-LHC accelerator configuration will request a significant update of the helium cryogenic system. The presentation will review the proposed cryogenic upgrade at the LHC P4 allowing the decoupling of the cooling scheme for the RF cavities from the main magnet circuits as well as the proposal for implementation of two new cryogenic installations at the LHC IP1 &IP5 dedicated to the helium refrigeration capacity for the new insertion regions. Finally, the available option for supplying cryogenic refrigeration power using an existing helium plant at CERN for tests in the SPS accelerator will be discussed.

Secondary particle showers and energy deposition20m
The impact of the collision debris and the beam losses on the interaction regions is reviewed, pointing out the critical aspects with respect to a high luminosity scenario and indicating the ruling parameters. Safety Issue for HL-LHC25m
This presentation is intended to identify the role and support of the HSE Unit, with respect to the inherent safety issues that must be addressed during each phase of the project.
All equipment to be installed and operated on the CERN site must comply with the CERN HSE (Health & Safety and Environmental) regulatory framework.
The main objective of this task is to provide advice to all Work Packages on Radiation Protection aspects (RP) and conventional HSE aspects, including risk assessment methods, choice of materials, and regulatory requirements.
