Description
Following a significant upgrade, the ALICE experiment resumed data-taking in 2022, collecting data at much higher interaction rates with continuous readout for most detectors. While ALICE’s Electromagnetic Calorimeter (EMCal) continues to operate in triggered mode, its photon and jet triggers allow for the full utilization of the LHC’s delivered luminosity. This increase in statistics enables precision measurements of neutral mesons, prompt photons, jets, and their correlations in both proton-proton and lead-lead collisions.
This poster shows the latest results of the measurement of $\pi^0$ and $\eta$ mesons in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13.6$ TeV. The analysis extends the $\sqrt{s}$ coverage of neutral meson measurements, with an unprecedented number of minimum bias and triggered events available. Moreover, the analysis advances and validates the energy calibration and normalization of analyses using the EMCal as part of ALICE's continuous readout in the LHC Run 3, thereby enabling more complex analysis, such as photon-jet correlations.
