Description
While fluctuations of the QGP initial conditions have been extensively studied in transverse plane, rapidity-dependent fluctuations remain a bit more elusive. In this talk, we present the new measures of fluctuations in the event-wise average transverse momentum, $\langle p_T \rangle$, which reflect event-by-event fluctuations of the size and entropy of the QGP initial source. We predict the longitudinal correlations and/or decorrelations, $R\left(\langle p_{T}\rangle_{\eta_1},\langle p_{T}\rangle_{\eta_2}\right)$, of the rapidity-dependent average transverse momentum $\langle p_{T}\rangle_{\eta}$ in relativistic heavy-ion collisions using a full (3+1)D hydrodynamic framework. This study offers new insights into initial-state structure, the longitudinal profile of fluctuations, and the properties of QGP in heavy-ion collisions.
