From International flights, Porto Alegre can be directly reached from Lisbon. Flights within Latin America, there is a regular schedule of direct flights from Buenos Aires, Lima, Montevidéu, Santiago, and Panama City.
Note that only nationals from countries associated to the Mercosul can fly without a passport, such as Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
Considering the recent flooding in the region of Porto Alegre, the operations of the POA airport will restart on October 21st, 2024 and will be fully operational by 2025.
