Travel

By Plane:

For international travellers the closest airport is London Heathrow (LHR).  London Gatwick airport (LGW) is further away however there are still direct buses to Oxford.  For other London airports e.g. London City (LCY), London Stansted (STN), London Luton (LTN), you will have to travel through London to London Paddington train station and then get a train to Didcot Parkway to get to Cosener's.

From Heathrow the quickest way to the Cosener's is by car/taxi.  You would need to arrange a taxi in advance and it would cost £100 - £120 each way.  For late night / early morning travel this is the most sensible option and if you can share the taxi (with 2 others) the costs are compare to other forms of travel.

Trains are the next quickest route from Heathrow.  The relatively new Elizabeth line stops in Heathrow can take you to Reading and then a further change will get you to Didcot Parkway.

'The Airline' website provides useful flight/bus information for people arriving from Heathrow & Gatwick. If you take The Airline, get off at St. Aldates. The bus from Heathrow goes to Oxford, where you must change and take either Bus X3, X13, 31 or X2 to Abingdon.

By Train:

The Eurostar is another possible route to the UK from mainland Europe.  You would need to get the underground from St Pancras to Paddington station and then there are trains to Didcot parkway.

The Cosener's House is about 7 miles from Didcot Parkway station, less than 60 minutes journey from London Paddington. Didcot Parkway also provides connections to Birmingham, the West of England and South Wales.

Oxford railway station is slightly further from Cosener's than Didcot however it has many trains with links to the rest of the country.

For information on train times please consult National Rail Enquiries.

By Car:

The hotel's post code for SatNav is: OX14 3JD.

There is limited parking on site, however there is the Abbey Close Car Park (OX14 3JE) opposite the hotel and it is possible to get parking permits from the hotel each day to park there.

There are numerous taxi companies that provide transport from Didcot Parkway or Oxford trains stations.  There are taxi ranks outside so you won't have to book before. A taxi to Cosener's is likely to be around £30.
