Travel information
Uppsala is situated about 35 km north of the Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) airport, which offers about 150 destinations worldwide. Buses and trains run frequently (every 15-30 minutes) directly from the airport to Uppsala, and the trip takes only 18 minutes by train and about 40 minutes by bus. The cost for a transfer is about 20 EUR per person by train (10 EUR by bus). Uppsala has a small city centre and most hotels are within walking distance from the train and bus station. Taxis are also available at the station. You can go by taxi straight from the airport to your hotel in Uppsala for approximately 60 EUR. There are also commuting trains to the main station in Stockholm, which leave Uppsala every half hour almost around the clock. Furthermore, Stockholm is the destination for long-distance high-speed trains. For instance, coming from Copenhagen, Uppsala can be reached within about 6 hours by train.
Conference venue
The HIGGS 2024 conference will take place in the beautiful University Main Building, which is situated in the centre of the town, close to the cathedral and the Gustavianum museum. The University Main Building was built in the 1880s and today it is used for lectures, conferences, concerts and academic festivities. The venue provides the latest and state-of-the-art technology, including free wifi. Eduroam is standard and those who do not have eduroam will be offered alternative access to wifi during the conference. Three lecture halls have been reserved and all of them have streaming possibilities. The plenary sessions take place in sal X (221 seats), whereas parallel sessions are in sal IX (141 seats) and sal IV (102 seats).
