About MPTL

The International Conference on Multimedia in Physics Teaching and Learning (MPTL), an activity of the European Physical Society (EPS), has been held annually since 1996, bringing together educators, researchers, and practitioners from across the globe. Hosted by universities around the world, but predominantly in Europe, the conference provides a platform to explore the latest advancements in multimedia technologies for enhancing physics education. MPTL conferences are organized jointly with GIREP (International Research Group on Physics Teaching) in odd-numbered years and are part of the prestigious World Conference on Physics Education series (every four years).

The conferences offer insight into three main issues concerning the effective use of multimedia in teaching and learning physics:

  • New hardware and software technologies,
  • Concepts for teaching and learning scenarios with innovative ideas, and
  • Empirical studies on key factors affecting learning with digital technologies, including students' assessments.

In addition, special workshops on the use of modern technologies are offered to local teachers, providing practical and immediately applicable insights into the classroom.

With a diverse array of presentations, workshops, and demonstrations, MPTL serves as an essential forum for advancing physics education through technological innovation. Participants will engage with theoretical discussions, experimental findings, succesfull case studies, and empirical results on how multimedia tools can foster active learning, improve conceptual understanding, and support personalized and remote learning environments. Join us to help shape the future of physics teaching and learning.
