People are the key to successful software. The HSF-India project aims to promote the development of international research software collaborations. This is the sixth in a series of workshops for software and data analysis skills essential for doing research software in physics. Our curriculum builds upon the successful series of workshops.

This workshop covers

  • Scientific Python
  • Parallel programming and hardware accelerators
  • Basics of Machine learning
  • Real-time triggering software

This event is organized primarily for PhD students and masters students from the surrounding region. However, anyone is welcome to attend.

This workshop will be held from June 15 to 21, 2025. The first two days of the workshop will be an introduction to high-energy physics data analysis and programming methods. The following five days will be a more in depth workshop on research software topics primarily of interest to those working (or planning to work) on experimental aspects of high-energy physics, nuclear physics, particle astrophysics and data science pursuits.

Registration will open on May 2, 2025. Applications for one or both parts of the workshop are encouraged.  We expect to accommodate about 50 students.  Feel free to contact us in case of questions.

Registration Fee:

There will be 3 categories for registration, and the corresponding fee structure is as follows:

  1. 2-day Introductory HEP Bootcamp (15th and 16th June): INR 1000 + 18% GST
  2. 5-day Advanced Deep Dive (17th to 21st June) : INR 3000 + 18% GST
  3. 7-day Full Immersion (15th to 21st June) : INR 4000 + 18% GST

The fee will be collected after registrations have been accepted. This fee covers local expenses during the workshop. A limited number of scholarships are available. Contact the organizers for more information in case support is necessary for you to attend.

In the case that we can not accept all applications, preference will be given to PhD students from the surrounding region who are engaged in programs for high-energy physics, nuclear physics, astroparticle physics and data science pursuits.
