Collaboration ALICE

Description

The ALICE Collaboration at the LHC comprises about 1870 members from about 169 institutes in 38 countries from around the world. Established in 2019, the ALICE Diversity Office monitors issues related to diversity, promotes initiatives regarding diversity and inclusion within the ALICE Collaboration, and serves as a direct liaison with the diversity offices at CERN and the other experiments at the LHC. Cultural differences are a source of richness in a scientific collaboration but could also became a hindrance due to the different manners on which people perceive the interpersonal interactions. In the last few years, the ALICE collaboration started organizing workshops aimed at promoting wellbeing and inclusivity in the community with the hope of mitigating such conflicts. In addition, the ALICE Diversity Office collects yearly statistics used to investigate the time evolution of membership trends at ALICE across various categorical demographic and geographical variables, such as gender, career status, and region of affiliation. The data from most recent survey with the time evolution of these statistics will be shown together with some considerations on the results of the first season of workshops on wellbeing and inclusivity.
