Description

Various Forbush events, a sudden decrease in the flux of galactic cosmic rays typically associated with intense solar flares and coronal mass ejections, have been observed by the detectors of the Extreme Energy Event (EEE) project. The network is composed of several telescopes utilizing diverse technologies, namely MRPC chambers and scintillators, situated across Italian territory, CERN, and Ny-Ålesund in the Svalbard archipelago. The characteristics of the network allow the observation of Forbush events with different technologies, in a wide range of latitude, and in different regions of Earth’s geomagnetic cutoff. In this contribution, the first results of the study of the latitude dependence of the Forbush decreases measured by the EEE detectors are presented.
