Description
The muon veto system of the COSINE-100 and its upgraded successor, COSINE-100U, consists of 37 plastic scintillator (PS) panels that provide a 4$\pi$ coverage of the detector. COSINE-100 operated from September 2016 to March 2023 at the YangYang Underground Laboratory (Y2L) in South Korea, which is located at an effective depth of approximately 1800 meters water equivalent. An initial study of the underground muon flux at Y2L was performed using the first 2.6 years of COSINE-100 data, including a measurement of the muon flux and its annual and diurnal modulations. The next phase of the experiment, COSINE-100U, began operation in September 2025 at Yemilab, located at an effective depth of approximately 2500 meters water equivalent. In this contribution, we present updated measurements of the muon flux at Y2L based on 6.5 years of COSINE-100 data, as well as the first results on the muon flux at Yemilab obtained with the COSINE-100U detector.
