Longitudinal bunch profile measurements using WCM and streak camera techniques 5m
My supervisors are Leandro Intelisano and Giulia Papotti in the section SY-RF-BR.
Accurate measurements of longitudinal bunch profiles is important for producing quality proton bunch beams from the super proton synchrotron. Due to cables, attenuators, and other electronics, signals can undergo distortion before measurement, which can be characterized by a transfer function. In this project, we will compare and the transfer functions and precision of two measurement techniques: one using a wall current monitor, the other using a streak camera.
