Plans for future:
  • test lower pressure with the 124-straw prototype in the vacuum tube
  • permeation measurement in vacuum

FCC meetings: https://indico.cern.ch/event/1664040/

There are minutes attached to this event. Show them.
    • 09:00 10:30
      Updates 1h 30m
      • Status and plans for FE and its development 20m
Speakers: Johan Morant (CERN), Peter Lichard (CERN)

        Gases to order:

        • Ar+Co2 - 70/30, 80/20 - to be decided based on simulation
        • different gas mixture could allow lower overpressure

        124-straw prototype:

        • start designing a board that would lead signals from the HV board outside
      • Status of the 0.5 m prototype and tests 20m
Speakers: Michal Zamkovsky (Universite Catholique de Louvain (UCL) (BE)), Dr Zdenko Hives (CERN)
      • Long prototype - parts, design and procurement status 20m
Speakers: Hans Danielsson (CERN), Vincent Clerc, Zuzana Kucerova (CERN)

        Procurement status:

        • most of the parts are ready or have been ordered
        • still missing:
          • HV cap + HV plug (waiting for prototype pieces)
          • shielding
          • spacer + fixation + protection
          • straws
          • aluminium cover
          • bracket for HV connectors
        • new glue should be dispatched this week

        Design:

        • mostly ready
        • last to be finished is spacer fixation
        • slowly going through the drawings as parts were being ordered

        Parts:

        • newest arrival - metallic spring pins
        • QC to be done/finished for:
          • crimp tubes (Minitubes)
          • metallic spring pins (Vink)
          • gluing sets (CERN)
          • straws (Temur)

        Long straw prototype status:

        • first attempt to assemble the support tube with flanges and straw fixation plates failed
          • straw holes not positioned well
          • plates to be redone
          • previous QC on plates to be understood - they seemed OK
      • Outillage et statut labo 20m
Speakers: Antonio Goncalves Martins De Oliveira (CERN), Francois Garnier (CERN)
        • 90g
        • a wheel for leading the wire with a weight is ready
        • maybe we could add a holder for the wire spool on the other side
        • we will glue a small ball on the wire and let it fall in the straw with gravity
        • gas panel is almost ready, a return (bubbler) is missing
        • a place for the bottle is prepared outside
