Asset and Maintenance Management Workshop

Scientific Programme

We are expecting 60-80 participants and shall organize plenary talks and discussions as well as breakout sessions on specific topics. The workshop will be accompanied by an invited talk, social functions, and visits of some of CERN’s facilities.

Topics:

• Asset and maintenance management strategies

Maintenance targets – availability, reliability, lifetime, budget, etc.; maintenance methods – preventive, predictive, corrective, etc.; maintenance culture – how to evolve; organization structures and roles; maintenance contracts; quality assurance in asset and maintenance management

• Practical asset management

Establishing asset databases; naming questions; configuration control; management of complex technical infrastructures; managing asset lifecycles; improvement cases

• Practical maintenance management

Issue management – from logbook to physical intervention; non-conformity reporting; intervention processes – work orders, scheduling, coordination, etc.; maintenance methods; planning processes; maintenance plans; maintenance and safety – e.g. work permits, lock out procedures, risk analysis; improvement cases

Managing documentation for operation and maintenance
