Acireale is a nice baroque town, about 10 Km far from Catania. Catania airport is connected to many Italian and international airports by frequent flights operated by several airlines. Acireale can be easily reached by buses. Here are some instructions.
How to reach hotel and workshop venue
By public transport: Outside the "Fontanarossa" airport (arrival level) about 30 m on the right side of the sidewalk you will find an AMT bus stop . The AMT line 457 (also called "Alibus") runs every 20 minutes, from 5.30 am to midnight (bus 457timetable and route ), from the Airport to the City Centre and the Central Station. You can buy the bus ticket at a kiosk located right outside the arrival terminal.
Ticket price: €1.00. Remember to validate your ticket at the automatic counter inside the bus once you get in.
The bus will take you to the main Catania train staion (Catania Centrale). Just crossing the main street you will find the AST bus terminal stop. There you have three options:
1) take the bus line CATANIA-ACICASTELLO-ACIREALE. Here is timetable and get out at the bus terminal of Piazza Livatino in Acireale (ask the driver for that) 1.2 Km far from workshop venue (map) .
2-3) take the bus line CATANIA - FICARAZZI - ACICATENA - ACIREALE dir. Vampolieri, or the bus line CATANIA - SAN GREGORIO - ACIREALE. Here is timetable and get out at the bus stop of Via Dafnica in Acireale (ask the driver for that) 500 m far from workshop venue (map) .
