Description
Goals of the meeting: There is a rising interest in X-band FELs. At the least two institutes plan to develop conceptual designs for such a machine; others are also considering the use of X-band technology for upgrades or new projects. The goal of the meeting is to kickstart a common study group on X-band FEL design. This group should exploit synergies in the hardware development and in the project design. Ideally large parts of the conceptual design could be in common for the different projects and can be developed in a common effort. We would welcome institutes to indicate their interest in such a common study and the areas where they could contribute.
