Description

The weak phase $\gamma$ is one of the least well-determined CKM parameters. It can be measured using time-independent decay rates, such as those of $B^+ \to D K^+$ with $D \to K^0_s h h$, or by time-dependent studies, as in $B^0_s \to D_s^{\mp} K^{\pm}$ decays. The precise determination of $\gamma$ is one of the most important goals of LHCb. Several recent time-independent and time-dependent measurements of $\gamma$ will be review together with the result of their combination, used to achieve the best accuracy on $\gamma$. Finally the first observation of the decay mode $B^0_s \to D_s^{*\mp} K^{\pm}$ will be presented. The first observation of this mode is particularly relevant since it will be used, in the future, for a new time-dependent measurement of $\gamma$ that could be added to the $\gamma$ combination.
