 Lykourgos MAGAFAS

Prof. Lykoyrgos Magafas was born in Kavala, in 1965. He holds a Physics Degree from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1987) and the PhD in the Electrical & Computer Engineering from Democritus University of Thrace (1992). Currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering of Eastern Macedonia Thrace Institute of Technology. His research interests include: Application of  Econophysiscs  in Finance,  SocioPhysics ,  DemoscopoPhysics, Complex Systems, Non-linear Circuits and Systems, Microelectronics Devices, Instrumentation and Measurements . His published work consist of 8 text books, a Book Chapter,  49 journal papers and 16 conference papers. His research work has attracted more than 220 citations.  He served as in scientific, program and organizing committees in 8 conferences. He is member of the editorial board in 5 journals, and he has participated as reviewer in 10 scientific journals. Since 2007 has been Deputy Head of Electrical Engineering Department of Eastern Macedonia Thrace Institute of Technology.  He was invited to give lectures in other Universities in Greece and abroad on complex systems and EconoPhysics.

 

 Dimitrios BANDEKAS

Prof. D. V. Bandekas obtained his Diploma in Electrical Engineering in 1990 and his Ph.D. in 1994, from the Democritus University of Thrace. He joined the Kavala Institute of Technology in 1995 as an assistant professor, and became permanent professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering in 2002. Since 1998 he was Head of Department of Electrical Engineering and is also the Director of Msc program of the Electrical Engineering Department. Prof. Bandekas is also Vice-President of Academic Affairs. He has many articles in recognized and prestigious international scientific journals and in international and national conferences with a jury system. He has participated as a researcher in sixteen (16) research projects of which the nine (9) as project leader. He is the founder and editor (Editor-in-Chief) of the recognized and prestigious international journal ‘Journal of Engineering Science and Technology Review’’ (www.jestr.org), which was incorporated in 2011 in the prestigious scientific database SCOPUS, and is one of the recognized scientific journals of CERN. Also he is Director of GRID Laboratory. His research interests focus on the following fields: Measurement Systems, Grid systems, Modeling and Simulation.
