The Time of Flight system (TOF) of the MPD is one of the elements for particles identification. The TOF MPD has to provide time resolution better 100 ps for effective separation of charged hadrons. The report focuses on the detailed design and technical problems of all the subsystems of the TOF.

The motivations for the Zero degree calorimeter (ZDC) use at MPD are discussed. ZDC is intended for the measurements of the geometry (centrality) and the reaction plane of nucleus-nucleus collisions. Two identical calorimeters would be placed at the opposite sides of MPD to detect the non-participating fragments or spectators. ZDC is modular hadron calorimeter with high granulation in both transverse and longitudinal directions. Each ZDC module consists of the lead/scintillator sandwiches with the sampling ratio 4:1 that ensures the compensation condition of the hadron calorimeter. The light readout of the ZDC would be done by novel silicon photomultipliers, SiPMs with high pixel density and large dynamic range. The parameters of the calorimeter are discussed.

The BM&N is designed as a spectrometer capable of detecting charged hadrons, electrons and photons in heavy-ion collisions in the energy range of the Nuclotron. To reach this goal the detector will include a precise tracking system and a high-performance particle identification system based on time-of-flight measurements. ToF system consist of two part: ToF400 and ToF700 which are located on 4 m and 7 m from target respectively. ToF700 wall will provide with the pion/kaon separation up to 3 GeV/c and proton/kaon separation up to 5 GeV/c in “high rate” region near to beam. ToF400 will provide identification of charged hadrons at intermediate momentum (0.1 – 2.5 GeV/c) and large angles. In both case ToF system will based on multigap Resistivity Plate Chamber with time resolution better than 80 ps. Result of R&D and beam test of mRPC for ToF400 will present in report. The construction of ToF400 wall, design of gas box for mRPC, and gas system are discussing.

The three flagships of the European Accelerator Physics are LHC at CERN, FAIR at GSI, and NICA in Dubna. FAIR and NICA are still under construction. Although the LHC is in operation since 2009, it will undergo a major upgrade during the shutdown scheduled for 2018 – 2019. The expected increase in luminosity and bunch crossing frequency will significantly exceed the original LHC design specifications. In that sense we may refer to it as a "new LHC". New accelerator facilities require detectors and experimental setups that would cope with the new demands and harsh working conditions. All three accelerator projects have generated significant detector R&D but until recently there was relatively little direct collaboration between the experiments. This talk will show the first benefits of the collaboration between the group working on the Fast Interaction Trigger for ALICE Upgrade at CERN LHC and the team building Fast Forward Detector for NICA’s Multi-Purpose Detector. In conclusion, further avenues of joint R&D will be proposed.

The design of a calibration system for resistance temperature detectors (RTD) will be presented. The project was optimized for high accuracy calibration in cryogenic temperatures. The system is based on the 18-bit ADC with an internal MUX and 35 input channels for the calibrated resistors and referential sources. The project will be used in the preparation of the NICA temperature monitoring system.

The Compressed Baryonic Matter (CBM) experiment at the FACILITY for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) will explore the phase diagram of strongly interacting matter in the regions of highest net-baryonic densities and moderate temperatures. The high beam intensities that will be delivered from FAIR's SIS-100 heavy-ion synchrotron and possible upgrades will enable addressing several physics cases: The equation-of-state at neutron star core densities, the onset of chiral symmetry restoration at high $\mu_B$, the identification of a deconfinement phase transition at high $\mu_B$, the search for new phases of strongly-interacting matter, and the investigation of strange matter. The related observables include collective flow of hadrons, particle production at threshold energies, in-medium modifications of hadrons, and the production of dileptons, strangeness and charm. The experiment will be based on detector systems capable of the high interaction and charged-particle rates that are pre-requisites of the programme, and include silicon tracking and micro-vertex detection, electron and muon measurement, hadron identification, and electromagnetic and zero-degree calorimentry. As most of the observables require full detector read-out for trigger decisions, the CBM experiment is based on delivering streamed detector data to a computing farm where on-line event reconstruction is performed based on time-stamped detector information. The presentation will overview the physics cases of the CBM experiment and the detector concept chosen. The status of the technical developments and the timeline for the experiment to take shape will be discussed. The Silicon Tracking System will be addressed in somewhat more detail as the development and construction of this detector is done in close collaboration of GSI and JINR.

In present time there are lot of devices based on strong magnetic field. Creation of strong magnetic field is possible thanks to superconductors which more often are replacing classic electromagnets. Strong magnetic fields are used in medical diagnostics and testing such as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Construction of NMR device and picture formation. Next application of strong magnetic fields in medicine is hadrontherapy. Theoretical principle of the method, construction of the devices for hadron therapy was presented. Comparison of the hadrontherapy with other radiotherapies was presented. In this presentation I'm going to talk about application of superconducting systems in medicine.

Modern organizations, both business and scientific institutions are facing challenges of a competitive market. Taking actions of competition is not characteristic only for business organizations. Increasingly it also applies to research units. Universities and scientific organizations understand that their strengths and long-term development (including their competitive, market position) depends on the willingness and desire to cooperate. We are noticing here a classic coopetence relationships, that is understood as undertaking joint actions by competing units. The article presents the groups of factors particularly relevant to action of cooperation between universities. Additionally here will be indicated the factors that distinguish the scientific institutions from business units. These differences indicate the specific of scientific institution’s functioning. It also underlines the necessity to create other, tailored to the needs of academic institutions, models of management and creating their relationship with the environment.

We study vorticity and hydrodynamic helicity in semi-peripheral heavy-ion collisions using the kinetic model of Quark-Gluon Strings. The angular momentum, which is a source of P-odd observables, is preserved with a good accuracy. We observe formation of the specific toroidal structures of the vorticity field. Their existence, accompanied by the strange chemical potential, is mirrored in the polarization of hyperons of the percent order.
