Regular 15 minutes Oral Presentation C2 - Resistive and Pulsed High-Field Magnets Wed-Af-Or27

Speaker

Doan Nguyen (LANL)

Description

The National High Magnetic Field Laboratory's Pulsed Field Facility at Los Alamos National Laboratory develops and provides state-of-the-art ultra-high field pulsed magnets for scientific research. The facility houses several types of non-destructive pulsed magnets which can provide the peak magnetic fields ranging from 60 T to 100 T with different pulse length for users. This presentation will highlight the recent developments for the pulsed magnet technology at our facility. In addition, we also want to share invaluable lessons learned from recent failures of the magnets and discuss the possible solutions to improve magnet performance.
