Arriving
Glasgow is Scotland's largest city and very well served with road, rail and air links to the rest of the UK, Europe and North America (note that there is a direct EasyJet flight from Geneva to Edinburgh). If you arrive in Glasgow Airport there is a direct bus service (77) to the West End. If you arrive at Edinburgh Airport there is a direct bus to the main bus station in the city centre (Citylink Air), from which travel to the West End is then easy. The University travel page gives a good entry point to planning your journey:

Our workshop will be at the Gilmorehill Campus, which is in the heart of Glasgow's West End and well served by local transport links:

To travel to the West End from the city centre, the easiest way is to take the Glasgow Underground from the Buchanan Street station to Hillhead. From here the Kelvin Building is about a 500m walk. It's also possible to take one of the many local buses (6 and 6A stop at the junction of Great Western Road and Byres Road; 4 and 4A go right along University Avenue).
UK Visas
If your passport is from a European Union country, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, USA or Canada you will not need a visa to visit for the workshop. However, you should check with the UK Government official website for definitive information:

We can provide letters of invitation on request.
Note that the UK is not part of the Schengen Area so in all cases you must present travel documents at the border.
