Description
We present recent results on the sub- and near threshold production of multi-strange hadrons and of charmed hadrons. These particle allow to explore multi-step processes in dense hadronic matter. We provide an alternative explanation for the observed transparency ratios of Phi-mesons and show how the observed enhanced Cascade production at HADES energies can be explained. For the near and sub-trehsold production of charmed hadrons, we present the first estimates for the SIS-100 energies, indicating that charm studies might still be feasable, even without SIS-300.
