Abstract
The nature of the grand challenges in computational biology will be reviewed making special emphasis on
the problems arising from the new experimental tools in genomics. The needs and the
expected bottlenecks in the development of massive project in bioinformatics and computational biology
will be discussed giving ideas on the future computer scenario required for biological research.
