Introduction

The Egyptian school of high energy physics was started for the first time on 27/5/2009. BUE contributed in the previous schools organizations with several facilities and financial supports.

This series of schools of high energy physics have been organized under the auspices of Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT, Egypt), French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), The Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN).

Goals of the school

The goal of this series of schools is to give extensive courses on the basic topics of theoretical, computational and experimental particle physics for the Egyptian as well as regional graduate students. The prospective outcome of the school is to establish qualified members capable to join the Egyptian national project related to CMS experiment of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN.

Topics of the school lectures

  1.  Introduction to Particle Physics and Standard Model
  2.  Latest Results of LHC Experiments
  3. Cosmology & Astroparticle Physics
  4. Beyond the Standard Model at LHC
  5. Grid Computing
  6. Computation and Analysis Tools
  7. Instrumentation for HEP
  8. CMS Muon System Upgrade (RPC, GEM).
