How to get there

Both the training day (Monday the 12th and the annual ENLIGHT meeting day (Tuesday the 13th) meeting will be held in the Aarhus University Hospital in Skejby, Auditorium A and B, Entrance G6. 



There are a number of ways to get to Aarhus, so please read carefully to find the option which works best for you. Aarhus can be reached by air, train and car. Most likely you will travel via Copenhagen, which is about 300 km distant from Aarhus by land.

By air

Aarhus can be reached by domestic and international airports located 40-80 minutes away in Tirstrup (AAR) or Billund (BLL), respectively. Bus transfer to Aarhus runs regularly from both airports. Single fare DKK 115 from AAR (see time table) or DKK 140 from BLL (see time table), credit cards accepted. A taxi from AAR to hotel is ~DKK 600, from BLL DKK 1000+.

By train

Trains connect Copenhagen and Aarhus on an hourly basis (see Travel time to/from Copenhagen is around 3 hours.

The Hotel Marselis (where the BiGART Conference will take place) is 3 km from the central station (taxi app. DKK 100).

By car

Aarhus is on the E45 highway, about 4 hours drive north of Hamburg.



The light rail goes directly from the city center to Aarhus University Hospital in Skejby (Universitetshospitalet), direction Grenå. Return is direction Odder.  There are 8 trains per hour and transport time is around 15 min.   


  • For people participating in both the ENLIGHT meeting and the BIGART Conference: please be aware that the ENLIGHT meeting venue is fairly distant (about 6 km) from the BiGART venue (the hotel Marselis).
