Description
The two Major Atmospheric Gamma Imaging Cherenkov (MAGIC) telescopes, placed at the Roque de los Muchachos European Northern Observatory on the Canary Island of La Palma (Spain), observe gamma-rays in the VHE energy range, starting from 30GeV to around 100TeV. This wide interval of energies allows to include different kind of sources in the schedule of observation, spreading from black hole accretion discs, relativistic jets, active galactic nuclei, pulsars, etc., in the galactic and extra-galactic space.
After an overview on the technical solutions adopted by the MAGIC collaboration for Cherenkov gamma-ray imaging, recent results from the galactic and extra-galactic observations will be presented. A major focus will be given on the new multi-messenger project with neutrino and gravitational wave alert and follow ups. Furthermore, we will discuss recent results on searches for Lorentz invariance violation and dark matter annihilation/decay.
