Workshop on Resurgent Asymptotics in Physics and Mathematics

Workshop on

Resurgent Asymptotics in Physics and Mathematics

9-12 July 2018

Convenor:  Prof. Ricardo Pina Schiappa de Carvalho,  University of Lisbon, Portugal   Email:  schiappa@math.tecnico.ulisboa.pt

Asymptotic methods include very powerful mathematical tools applicable throughout theoretical physics, and recent mathematical progress in the theory of resurgent functions and transseries has led to many new results and applications within string and gauge theories. On the mathematical side, progress has focused on resurgent asymptotics of nonlinear differential and finite-difference equations, via alien calculus and Stokes phenomena, among other topics. On the physical side, progress has focused on applications via localization, complex integrable systems, quantization, and Picard-Lefschetz theory, among other topics. The goal of this workshop is to bring together experts from both the mathematical and physical sides, focusing on gauge and string theoretic developments and applications, in order to exchange new ideas or methods, and to identify the salient research problems that might be addressable in the near future.

If you are interested to participate in the Workshop , please choose this topic in the abstract submission. You can also contact by email the convenor and the conference email.
