Hotel information

Krakow is a known touristic destination and as such offers plentiful of accommodation options at every price range and standard (can be easily found eg. through booking.com).

Generically, we suggest one of the two options:

 1. Hotels outside the downtown, but in walking distance to the IFJ

Some of the options are:

2. Hotels in the downtown touristic area

Choosing this option is perhaps recommended if you have never visited Krakow. However, take into consideration that it might be sometimes loud at night and crowdy during the day.

As the IFJ is over an hour of walking distance from the Main Market, the only reasonable option is taking a bus or a tram, depending on an exact location of the hotel. To navigate through the bus and tram connections we suggest using some of the online services eg. jakdojade.pl (available in English). The tickets can be purchased in the machines at the bus stops or inside buses or trams (English menu available). Some of them accept credit cards. One way ticket is 3.80 PLN and is good for 40 min ride. Ticket has to be vaildated upon entering a vehicle.

UPDATE: Because of the ongoing constructions the direct tram lines connecting the downtown  and the institute area have been unfortunately shut down. There is a replacement bus 704 which connects the stop 'Teatr Bagatela' in downtown and the stop 'Bronowice Wiadukt' (about 15' on foot from IFJ). The bus leaves every 3 min and is for free, but the trip takes more time. Depending on the hotel location there may be better connections -- it's best to use online services, e.g.  jakdojade.pl  or google.
