Description
Semileptonic B-meson decays are well suited to measure the magnitudes of the CKM matrix elements
$|V_{cb}|$ and $|V_{ub}|$ and provide crucial tests of the quark flavor sector of the Standard Model.
In this talk, an overview of the status of $|V_{ub}|$ and $|V_{cb}|$ determinations at the
$e^+e^-$ B-factory experiments Belle and BaBar will be given, with a focus on the recent experimental
progress. Recent results on inclusive and exclusive charmless semileptonic decays as well as
new measurements of $B \to D^* \ell \nu$ and $B \to D^{(*)} \pi \ell \nu$ decays will be discussed.
In addition, the current status of $R(D)$ and $R(D^*)$ measurements with semileptonic decays involving
tau leptons will be presented.
