Scientific Program

The 2018 workshop focusses on the upgraded Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility, the PANDA experiment at FAIR and the possibilities EIC will offer in the future. The topics to be presented and discussed, amongst others, are:

  • elastic form factors and charge distributions of baryons
  • the meson and baryon spectrum: resonances, exotics and hybrids
  • $N^*$ transition form factors
  • strangeness content of the proton
  • nuclear dependence of the EMC effect
  • charmed matter and charmonia
  • nuclear matter at finite density and temperature
  • flavor physics and CP violation
  • pion and kaon space- and time-like form factors
  • spin structure of the nucleon
  • parton distribution amplitudes
  • quark and gluon fragmentation functions
  • transverse momentum and generalized parton distributions

We shall also reserve time for formal approaches in nonperturbative quantum field theory and in particular confinement and its likely relationship with dynamical chiral symmetry breaking. The programs of previous workshops can be found here:
