Description
Since a few years the LHC experiments started to give a special focus on searches for unusual signatures, namely long lived particles that would traverse the experiments our decay in the detectors. Several of these searches are conducted now in the ATLAS, CMS, LHCb and MoEDAL experiments. New experiments for the LHC are presently being proposed to extend substantially the phase space for these searches.
At the same time also future fixed target experiments are proposed to complement these LHC searches, for the low mass region and very small couplings.
In this contribution we will give a review of the present searches and the plans for new experiments to cover a larger phase space of particle types, masses and couplings.
