Travel Arrangements + Visas

Students who are selected to attend the School should arrange to arrive at Incheon international airport (ICN) during the afternoon/early evening of Wednesday 5 October 2022. The school will end on the morning of Tuesday 18 October after breakfast.

On the day of arrival a bus transfer will be organized between Incheon international airport (airport code ICN) and the Alpensia Resort. Similarly, transport will be provided to the airport on the departure day.

Where necessary, our Korean colleagues will assist with official invitations for use in obtaining visas for Korea if needed. Once selected, students will be contacted by e-mail with the relevant instructions for making the visa application for Korea.

Extra information on the type of visa needed to enter Korea as well as other entrance requirements can be found in the following pdf:

Information PDF - updated in September - (Please check with your airline about possible requirements for pre-departure COVID (lateral-flow or PCR) testing and/or for COVID vaccination/recovery certificates. While pre-departure testing is no longer demanded by the Korean authorities, some airlines may make this a condition of travel, and there could also be requirements from the counties where you will board planes (original departure point and intermediate points if you do not have a direct flight).

Upon arrival in Korea a PCR test will be mandatory. Participants will be kept informed via emails about the procedures and the local organisation at the airport.

Note that students should not make firm bookings for travel to the school before they have been formally accepted, and travel details for funded students must be agreed in advance by the School organizers.
