COVID-19 Update:

The current COVID situation makes it impossible to hold the School this year as planned and holding an online School is not possible because the practical exercises that contribute much to the quality of the school only work if the students and tutors can work with the equipment.

We have therefore decided to postpone the school to 2022 with Catania still the chosen venue.

We plan to hold the School in either January/February or June/July of 2022. A decision on the final dates will be taken later this year.

Applications for the School are now closed.

ISOTDAQ 2021 is the 12th of a series of International Schools dedicated to introduce those with an education in physics, engineering or computing (ranging from undergrads to postdocs) to the "arts and crafts" of triggering and acquiring data for physics experiments. The main aim of the school is to provide an overview of the basic instruments and methodologies used in high energy physics, spanning from small experiments in the lab to the very large LHC experiments, emphasizing the main building blocks as well as the different choices and architectures at different levels of complexity. The school will be split 50-50 between a series of lectures and hands-on laboratory exercises, where students can use the concepts and techniques they have learned throughout the course.

Since places are limited, acceptance to the school is by a selection committee. Apply here.

The 12th International School of Trigger and Data Acquisition is organised by INFN - sez Catania and will be held at Department of Physics and Astronomy "E.Majorana", Catania Italy.  Lectures and hands on exercises will be held in both LNS Hostel (INFN-LNS) and Department of Physics. Coffee breaks and lunches will be served at the LNS Hostel.
